This weeks new singles review 20/7/2014

Hello everyone and I hope you all had a good week whether you have been working, or chilling out on Holiday, last week was very good Will.I am went straight to number one like i predicted and the Vamps went to number 4, so I was close to it becoming the number one for the week , good effort lads, also Jess Glynne entered the charts with her brilliant Right Here track.

My first song this week is Rixton - Me and my broken Heart

This new band has spent ages in the states perfecting its new sound, until there new boss Scooter Braun was satisfied they were ready, they are supposed to be four lads who write there own songs, we will see,,,the lead singer Jake has a very distinctive radio sounding voice, some of you may already have seen them perform on Capitals Summertime Ball, the song is an upbeat summer smash that i predict will get to the top or very close, for me it sounds alot like Maroon 5, SO I QUIET LIKE IT,,these lads i expect to have a big career ahead of them , so well done with the first single ..............................................4 stars ****

The second song is Magic - Rude

If there is any indication of how this song is gonna do in the charts all you have to do is look at what has happened to it in the US, Australia and New Zealand, its been a big smash, as i expect it to be over here.
This new Reggae sounding track is a breath of fresh air for the charts, it has a clean guitar upstroke, with a little Carribean inflection and Indie Rock panache, these are one of the most exciting new bands on the scene, i expect this to be sung at many festivals around this summer.................4 stars ****

My 3rd single today is Cheryl Cole Ft Tinnie Tempah - Crazy Stupid Love

Cheryls new comeback song, for me is average.
Cheryl is not a solo singer her voice does not carry a song, this is the same, but I am sure her die hard fans will buy it, but the problem is this will go in and out the charts quickly, as there is no spine in any of her songs, its all about how pretty she looks in her videos, but with no substance and depth to her them. The Lalalala bit is very annoying within the chorus and does get inside your brain a little which is very annoying, so maybe Miss Cole, it might reach number one, but defo not my scene......2 stars **

the 4th single today is Charli XCX - Boom Clap

This new Singer- Songwriter is making a big splash with her thunderous love song debut, Boom Clap.
Her song contribution to the film, The Fault in our Stars has her currently sitting in the top ten of the downloads chart.
Charli came to our notice when she wrote the number one smash hit I love It - Icona Pop, and also Iggy Azaleas track Fancy, all eyes are on her to see if this will make it to the uk top 10, the song sits on a wave of synthesizers as she sings about an out of this world romance, she is very tender on the verses , but clobbers out the chorus....................................................................................................3 stars ***

My final song is Kieza - Giant in my Heart

This infectious new track from Kieza, the track builds on the divas vocals and lose-yourself beat that made her other track Hideaway a massive hit, the video follows around a New Yorker who is a disgruntled 9-5 worker who is annoyed at the boredom of there work in an office job, but we then find they live a very exciting nightlife, its the usual 90s vibe from this talented singer.Lets see how high in the charts it goes, whatever its a fine piece of dance music.................................................................3 stars ***

This weeks new review 13/7/2014

Hello everyone hope you have all had a good weekend so far, last week was another winner for me with Sia entering the charts and Ariana Granda - Problem going straight in to number one,,,pat on the back again,,me thinks,,,lol .........................................

This weeks first song is The Vamps feat Demi Lovato  - Somebody To You

This entered the charts at number 39 last week and for me this week it will be pushing for number one, this youthful love song, is very catchy and the UK based foursome with the soulful voice of Demi seem to have CRACKED IT with this, For all you Vampetes out there, it comes from there album , meet the Vamps. The lads who first got picked up as they used to post there videos and songs on Youtube, now have a large following, they are also very animal orientated, as the lads have lots of pets from Lizards to Hamsters...........................................................................................................................3 stars ***

The next song is Jess Glynne - Right Here

At the start of the year I would have picked this Artist to be one to watch out for, in 2014, after her Debut on the amazing Clean Bandit and Route 94 records , she has now released her new track called Right Here, its a very summer sounding song with an infectious vocal and bassline,  love this track, my sort of tune, its is produced by the classy Gorgon City outfit., definate top 5 track.....................................4 stars ****

The 3rd song I an reviewing is Nicole Scherzinger - Your Love

This once, very sexy Pussycat Doll is now embarked on a Solo career that has yet to take of, for me she should have stayed with her girlfriends, but hey ive listened to the new song and although it may get into the top 10 it will not me very memorable, as she seems to sing the verses in a low raspy sounding voice that is hard to pull of, it jumps around around with no structure in the song at all and with some very weird tempo changes, she seems to have shortened the word baby to bby which is repeated over and over again to my annoyance...............................................................................................................1 star *

My next review is La Roux - Uptight Downtown

Its been awhile since we have heard from La Roux as the singer Elly Jackson has had illness and lost her voice,, anyway the five years have passed and now they are back with this multi tracked vocal with a great beat, the vocal is layered beautifully, the atmosphere from the song sounds fuller and the arrangement in its entirity is sizzling , great track and welcome back.......................................................3 stars ***

My final review is G.R.L - Ugly Heart

This girl band is poised to become the next big thing from across the pond, they are all cheerleaders, and are trying to emulate the Pussycat Dolls success, Ugly Heart starts of with a Ukelele introduction before bursting into a more poppy/cliche tune, the verses are toned down which is a breath of fresh air but yet still remains catchy, The lyrics tell of a girl who is over her ex boyfriend who is pretty but has an ugly heart, this is there second single after there collaboration with Pitbull, Not my cup of tea, and we will see as to whether they will become a huge hit ,, i feel they need better written songs than this but we will reserve judgement for now for the audience out there..........................................................................................2 stars **

Have a nice rest of the weekend and dont work too hard everyone, see you soon.

Sunday 6 July 2014

THIS WEEKS NEW RELEASES WEEK COMMENCING 6TH JULY 2014

This week my first review is Ariana Granda feat Iggy Azalea - Problem

This 21 year old ex Nickelodeon presenter is back with her 9th single release, and to be honest as yet she has not made it from across the pond , I think this one will be a very big hit for her , as she has brought in with her the incredible Iggy Azalea, the video reminds me of a BeyonceMariah Carey video, especially the dance moves, but it is quiet catchy, not my cup of tea but its the usual mainstream pop song, very summery and to me a defo number one.............................................................................3 stars ***

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS1g8G_njx8

The next song is the the new Eminem song - Headlights

This self penned track is all about his life with his mum what a shock, as much as I like some of Eminems tracks, I find this track dull and boring, and he seems to have become the new Will I am of the Rap world,, Who has he not sang with?, youre better on youre own mate. A little known fact about Eminem is that The King of Pop Michael Jackson actually co-owns rights in his Eminems back catalogue,, anyway the song is probably at top 10 hit, for his die hard fans but it will not set the charts alight, and certainly not one of his best........................................................................................................................2 stars **

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd5YwzBdqVE

The next song is Jason Mraz - Love Someone

This is one of those Accoustic Love Songs someone will pick up and use as a couples song/ probable love album song, its starts slow and to be honest when it gets to the chorus it goes nowhere, sometimes I find artists think there fans are stupid and will buy anything they put out, Mr Mraz take the time to think and be honest with yourself ....Is this going to be a big hit? ,,,, I SAY NO.....maybe he does not want to be a mainstream artist if so thats fine , but please take the time to write a song that has character.......1 star *

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J74Y6kDDTkM

The 4th song this week is Sia - Chandelier

This Australian singer songwriter who used to be in an acid based band called Crisp , releases her new single Chandelier which to be honest is ok, she is very in demand at the moment, she just needs to write them and let others sing them to bring the true quality out of them as her voice is okay but not as good as the others she has penned for, not alot of people know she co-wrote Diamonds for Rihanna, David Guetta - Titanium and Beyonce - Pretty Hurts, so this woman is very talented, and she is massive in Europe , probable top 10 hit but thats it.................................................................................................................3 stars **

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vjPBrBU-TM&feature=kp

The last song this week is the new song from Will.i.am feat Codywise - its my birthday

This is absolute Bollywood garbage and i am very disappointed by where this guy has headed since leave the amazing Black Eyed Peas, I am sure this will be a number one , as it will be played constantly everywhere for some reason,, go back to your roots man and look in the mirror, you have gone down the wrong road, ITS BECOME VERY STALE...the song is about a boys birthday dreams, thats all you need to know, and its from his massive hit album Willpower.............................................................................1 star *

to be honest its a poor week for music I just hope Dj Fresh , one of my tips from an earlier blog drops in nice and high in the charts,,, see you all soon, dont forget to send me any messages you have thanks for all the ones i have had so far.....

Apologies

Sorry ive been away for a bit and missed this weeks blog, that was due to my hard-drive going down on my laptop, anyway im back so i will look at the new releases and send out my new blog by Monday , touchwood lol
